ax+3=2x+b\implies ax+3-2x=b\implies ax-2x=b-3 \\\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{common factoring}}{x(a-2)}=b-3\implies x=\cfrac{b-3}{a-2} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ 3(wx-v)=8(x+v)\implies 3wx-3v=8x+8v\implies 3wx-3v-8x=8v \\\\\\ 3wx-8x=8v+3v\implies \stackrel{\textit{common factoring}}{x(3w-8)}=11v\implies x=\cfrac{11v}{3w-8}
