Terrance uses a ramp to get sound equipment onto a 2.1 m stage. One speaker has a mass of 65 kg. In order to get this speaker up the ramp, Terrence has to push with a force of 290 N, over a distance of 6.4 m. What is the efficiency of this ramp?

Efficiency = (Work Done / Input Work) x 100

Work Done = (Force x Distance) = (290 N x 6.4 m) = 1856 Joules

Input Work = (Mass x Gravity x Height) = (65 kg x 9.8 m/s2 x 2.1 m) = 1374 Joules

Efficiency = (1856 Joules / 1374 Joules) x 100 = 135.2%
