It is important to be critical of information or sources because not all sources provide accurate information. We can often be tricked into believing incorrect information found from sources. Being critical makes sure we are not. Furthermore, not being critical and trusting inaccurate information causes us to spread it and misinform others. Therefore, being critical helps us prevent misinformation and believing incorrect information.

We can make sure we are being critical of information by checking the credibility. One way to do this is to analyze the source. If a paint company is saying Einstein's room was blue and that blue paint helps foster intelligence, that information is probably false. If a science foundation is saying it, it is probably true.
