3(x - 1) - 5x = 1 - 7(2 + x)

3x - 3 - 5x = 1 - 14 + 7x

3x - 5x = -2x

-2x - 3 = 1 - 14 + 7x

1 - 14 = -13

-2x - 3 = -13 + 7x

+3 | +3 + 7x

-2x | -10 + 7x

2 | 2

x = -10 + 4.5x

4.5 rounded is 5.

x = -10 + 5x

-10/5 = -2

x = -2
