How much timber would be left if eleven 1.75m lengths are cut from a 22m piece of timber?

Answer: 2.75 meters

Work Shown:

1 piece = 1.75 m

11 pieces = 11*1.75 = 19.25 m

22 m - 19.25 m = 2.75 meters

This ignores the width of the saw blade, while small, it's not infinitely thin.
