If angle A = angle C, line AB = line BC

2x + 5 = 3x - 3
+3
2x + 8 = 3x
-2x
8 = x
Answer

Answer:

x = 8

Explanation:

In a triangle, if two angles are congruent, then the opposite sides are congruent.

Since you are told that angles A and C are congruent, then their opposite sides, BC and AB are congruent.

That makes BC = AB.

3x - 3 = 2x + 5

x = 8
