Solve the equation. What is X?

6 ( x − 2 ) = −18

(It is NOT -5, 5, -6, 6 I kept on getting that as the answer)

6(x-2)=-18

Distribute:

(6)(x)+(6)(-2)=-18

6x-12=-18

Add 12 to both sides:

6x-12+12=-18+12

6x=-6

Divide both sides by 6:

(6x)/(6) =(-6)/(6)

\fbox{x = -1}
