Answer:

x⁵ - 1/3x² -1

Explanation:

In order to write polynomials in standard form:

1) Find the degree (power) of each term

2) Arrange them in descending order (largest to smallest)

We have : -1 + x⁵ - 1/3x²

The degree of -1 is 0 since there is no power.

The degree of x⁵ is 5.

The degree of - 1/3x² is 2.

Now arranging them in descending order:

x⁵ has the largest degree, followed by - 1/3x² and then -1, so the polynomial in standard form is:

x⁵ - 1/3x² -1
