1. Strong winds and flooding can uproot plants and kill land animals

4. after a flood the water and landscape can be contaminated with hazardous materials such as sharp debris, pesticides, fuel, and untreated sewage
5. more of an economic effect (destruction of property etc)
6. Exposure to very high levels of radiation, such as being close to an atomic blast, can cause acute health effects such as skin burns and acute radiation syndrome (“radiation sickness"). It can also result in long-term health effects such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.
7. Impacts on the environment can be just as devastating: killing organisms in a lake or river, destroying animals and plants in a contaminated area, causing major reproductive complications in animals, or otherwise limit the ability of an ecosystem to survive.
8. Heat waves dry out vegetation and provide more fuel for wildfires whose smoke is a serious medical hazard.
