Explanation:

the slope of a linear equation is defined as


(y_(2) -y_(1) )/(x_(2) -x_(1) )

y is the output so in this case, the y's would be f(n) on the chart

x is the input so in this case the x's would be n on the chart

to keep things simple ill use the first 2 columns of the chart, which give the (x,y) pairs (-3,15) and (0,3)

Simply plug these x's and y's into the above equation to get the slope


(y_(2) -y_(1) )/(x_(2) -x_(1) )\\(3 -15 )/(0--3 )\\(-12)/(3) \\
