the slope is always the factor of x (a) in the line equation.

either in

y = ax + b

or in

y - y1 = a(x - x1) with (x1, y1) being a point on the line.

it represents the ratio of "y coordinate change / x coordinate change" when going from one point on the line to another.

and so, the slopes of the 2 lines are

1/2
