Answer:

B is directed from N to S (upwards at the open end)

Let the magnet be oriented with the open end at the north

F = q * v X B

A positive charge would be deflected towards the East using v X B

This is the direction of the "conventional" current which is B to A

Actual charges flow from A to B but the sign of the charge is -q
