Answer:

write the given equation in a standard form

6x - 2y = 6

-2y = -6x + 6

y = 3x - 3

m = 3

if the lines are perpendicular to each other the product of their gradient is equal to -1

m1 × m2 = -1

3 × m = -1

3m = -1

m = -1/3

y - y1 = m(x - x1 )

y - (-1) = -1/3 ( x - (-3) )

y + 1 = -1/3 (x + 3 )

y + 1 = -1/3x - 1

y = -1/3x - 1 + 1

y = -1/3x
