How do you find the protons , neurons and electrons of an element ?

Answer:

For any element,

Atomic Number (Z) = The number of protons (P⁺) = The number of electrons (e⁻)

Hence,

Z = P⁺ = e⁻

For Neutron,

Mass number (A) – Atomic Number (Z)

N = A Z

For Examples :-

  • Oxygen atom (O)
  • Atomic Number = 8
  • Proton = 8
  • Electron = 8
  • Mass Number = 16
  • Neutron = 16 – 8 = 8
