Applying Parabolas

For your project, you will be creating a one pager (winter/festive theme) about a real world
example of a parabola. Examples may include the following: fireworks, football, diving.

Note: The example and word problem must be school appropriate.
You Need..
-Word Problem: You must write a word problem about a real world application of a
quadratic function. It must have a minimum of 3 complete sentences.
-Quadratic Equation: It can be written in any form (vertex, standard, or factored).
-Graph: Your graph must have x & y axis labeled
-Roots: You must label your x-intercepts.
Y-Intercept: You must label your y-intercept.
-Vertex: You must label your vertex.
Axis of Symmetry: You must label your axis of symmetry.
- Maximum or Minimum: You must determine if your graph has a maximum or a
minimum and label it.
- Concavity: Identify the concavity of your graph.
- Inverse: Write the equation for, graph and label the inverse of your created quadratic.
