Given:

P(A)=0.44,P(B)=0.6,P(A\cap B)=0.394.

To find:

The value of
P(A\cup B), rounding to the nearest thousandth.

Solution:

We know that,

P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)

On substituting
P(A)=0.44,P(B)=0.6,P(A\cap B)=0.394, we get

P(A\cup B)=0.44+0.6-0.394

P(A\cup B)=0.646

Therefore, the value of
P(A\cup B) is 0.646.
