Explanation:

The angle horizontally adjacent from 73 is also equal to 73 due to the triangle being isosceles (the legs are given as equal). Therefore the other angle in that triangle has to be 180 - (73*2) = 34. This angle is a part of the 90 degree angle that is noted in the figure. The other part of that angle must be 90 - 34 = 56. Since this angle is in another isosceles triangle, the angle horizontally adjacent to it must also be 56. x is equal to this angle by definition of vertical angles, so x = 56.
