Im practicing for a state test im taking- i am a 7th grader doing 9th grade algebra because well yeah im smort- anyways- my teacher and all of us thought the answer was 40% but it wasnt she gave us the answer of 62.5%- she wants us to explain how she got that answer can anyone help me.

Explanation:

the question is worded weirdly but basically since they're saying "given that a state does not use nuclear power", you can ignore the ones that do use nuclear power.

20 + 12 = 32

and then u have to find the percentage that do use coal (20). to do that all you have to do is divide then move the decimal place backwards 2 times

20 ÷ 32 = 0.625

62.5%
