Teenagers who volunteer for service jobs gain many skills and knowledge from doing a service job. Research has shown that teens who engage in community service are more responsible than teens who dont. They have higher self-esteem and resilience. Volunteering helps teens gain new skills that they will possibly need for future jobs. Some skills they might learn include leadership, communication skills, dependability, time management, and decision making. Doing a service job can even introduce you to new ideas and jobs.
