On any particular night of the year:

  • Individuals in the northern and southern Hemispheres can see SOME of the same stars, but not all. The amount of "overlap" in their views depends on how far from the equator the farther one is.

  • No matter where they're located, they BOTH always see the "equator of the other one's sky, but neither of them can ever see the "pole" of the other one's sky.

  • Apart from the "overlap", each of them sees some stars that the other one can't see.
