Since this is an isosceles triangle, the two angles opposite the congruent sides are also congruent. That means that ∠A and ∠C both equal 73°, you don't even need to solve the equation with y in it. Since all the angles in a triangle add up to 180°, we know that ∠B is equal to
180-(73*2), which is 34. So if
34=6x+4, then you can solve to get
x=5.
