Determine whether the equation is true or false. Where possible, show work to support your conclusion. If the statement is false, make the necessary change(s) to produce a true statement.

log(x+3)-log(8x)=log(x+3)/log(8x)
if false make necessary changes to produce a true statement

Use of identity:

  • log_a\ (b) - log_a\ (c)=log_a\ (b/c)

When it is applied to given it should be:

  • log\ (x+3)-log\ (8x)=log\ [(x+3)/(8x)]

So the RHS of the given equation is incorrect.
