Explanation:

When Mr Norman turns 58, he will be two years older than twice the age his daughter will turn in January. How old is Nicole now?

equation: 58 = 2d + 2

58 = 2d + 2

subtract 2 from both sides:

56 = 2d

divide both sides by 2:

d = 28 , so his daughter is 28 years old.
