Explanation:

The two angles are x and y

x+y = 90 because complementary angles add to 90

x = y-60

Substitute the second equation into the first

y-60 +y = 90

2y -60 = 90

Add 60 to each side

2y -60+60 = 90+60

2y =150

Divide by 2

2y/2 =150/2

y = 75

x = y-60 =75-60 = 15

The angles are 75, 15
