Answer: 3,-3

Explanation:

|6x-1| = 17

For absolute value problems there is always two solutions. They will both be the same number, one positive and one negative.

6x-1 = 17

Add 1 to both sides.

6x-1 +1 = 17+1

6x=18

Now, divide by 6.

6x/6=18/6

x = 3

The two answers that would be correct are 3,-3.
