Ramesh took a loan of Rs 50,000 from Urmila at the rate of 10% p.a. If he paid a

half of the principal and all the interest at the end of 3 years, in how many years
should he pay the remaining amount with total interest of Rs 20,000 from the
beginning?​

In three years the interest will be

50 000 * .1 * 3 = 15 000

He pays this and 25 000 so his remaining loan is 25 000

we want to know how long will it be before this remaining loan

incurs 5 000 interest ( for a total of 20 000)

25000 * . 1 * n = 5000 shows n = 2 years more

( 5 years from original loan date)
