What is the slope of y – 5 = –4x,

3y – 9 = –6x

Answer: -4,-2

Explanation:

(i)Take y-5=-4x

Make y as subject of formula i.e. y=-4x+5

Now compare it with y=mx+c

Then Slope m=-4

(ii) 3y-9=-6x

Making y as subject of formula i.e. 3y=-6x+9

Divide through by 3

then it will become y=-2x+3

Now comparing it with y=mx+c

then Slope m=-2
