Newton sees 6 on the ground. Descartes and Newton see the
same amount of oranges. How many oranges does Newton
see on the tree?

18 + 13 = 6 + t

31 = 6 + t

Subtract 6 from both sides

25 = amount of oranges Newton sees on the tree
