Answer:

C = 18.84 ft

Hope this helps!

Explanation:

One circumference formula is 2πr, another is πd ( π * Diameter ).

The diameter ( 2*r ) of this circle is 6.

So, π*6 which is 18.8495559... or 18.84

The other formula is 2πr and is basically πd because as said in the beginning, diameter is 2*r : (2)π(r). So, 2 * 3.14 * 3 = 6 * 3.14 = 18.84.

Circumference of a Circle

To calculate the circumference of a circle, we can use the following equation:

C=\pi d

  • C is the circumference
  • d is the diameter

Solving the Question

We're given:

  • r = 3 ft

The radius of a circle is half of its diameter. To find d, multiply r by 2:

3 ft * 2 = 6 ft

Plug the information into the equation:

C=\pi d\\C=(3.14)(6)\\C=18.84 \hspace{4}ft

Answer

C = 18.84 ft
