Explanation:

You can cut the figure horizontally and you will have a rectangle and a triangle.

Area of rectangle is length x width.

Area of rectangle = 11 x 8 = 88 cm²

Area of triangle is 1/2 x base x height.

Area of triangle = 1/2 x 11 x 7 = 38.5 cm²

Add the area of the rectangle and triangle to get the area of the figure.

Area of figure = 88 + 38.5 = 126.5 cm²
