First step: Distributive Property:
You need to multiply 5 by three and x

5 (3 + x) = 20 5*3 = 15 5*x = 5x

Second step: Add 15 to both sides
15-15 = 0 20-15 = 5

15 + 5x = 20
-15 -15

Step three: Divide 5 from both sides
5x/ 5 = x
5/5 = 1

5x = 5

X= 1
