A training field is formed by joining a rectangle and two semicircles, as shown below. The rectangle is 84 m long and 55 m wide. What is the length of a training track running around the field? (Use the value 3.14 for pi, and do not round your answer. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.)

Answer: The circumference/perimeter of the training field is 340.7m long.

Explanation:

First, we must calculate the circumference of the circle, using the formuala "C=2πr". The radius is 55/2=27.5

C=2x3.14x27.5=172.7

Given that they are 2 semi-circles, we can add up the total circumference.

2(84)+172.7

=168+172.7

=340.7

The circumference/perimeter of the training field is 340.7m long.
