x=-5 or x=-7

Explanation:

x² + 12x = -35

x² + 12x + 35 = 0​

now you find two values that have a product of c (35) but a sum of b (12)

7+5 = 35

7+5 = 12

(x + 7)(x + 5) = 0

now you take each bracket to find the two values of x

x + 7 = 0

x = 0 - 7

x = -7

or

x + 5 = 0

x = 0 - 5

x = -5
