Explanation:

If you look on the graph the points (5,4) and (10,8) are on the line. In a proportional relationship, the slope of the line is y/x. If you look at point (5,4) you see that the point is written in the form(x,y). The 5 is the x and the 4 is the y. If I put that in the form y/x we get 4/5 which is the slope.


the same is true for the point (10.8), if I put that in the form y/x , we get 8/10 which simplifies to 4/5. This is true for every point on the line.
