Explanation:

The short side would be (6x-1)-14

hence becoming 6×-15

The shorter side of the other side is 15-6= 9

  • From the similarity


(6x - 15)/(9) = (6x - 1)/(15)


15(6x - 15) = 9(6x - 1)


90x - 225 = 54x - 9 \\ 90x - 54x = - 9 + 225 \\ 36x = 216 \\ x = 6
