The plan seems to be working and everyone is blaming the guards for Duncan's murder. What

strange thing does Macbeth do to them that looks a little suspicious, and how does he try to explain
himself?

To clear his name, Macbeth goes on a strange killing spree against the framed guards. 'I murdered them because I loved Duncan,' Macbeth claims. Of course, he ends up killing them in the end since they may be eyewitnesses to his crimes.
