Explanation:While Independence Day celebrates the freedom of the United States from British rule, it does not acknowledge that Black people were still enslaved in 1776. Juneteenth celebrates the end of racial enslavement in the United States.

While the Emancipation Proclamation declared the end of enslavement in 1863, enslaved people in many places did not know until two years later on Juneteenth that they had been freed.
