So if this formula is the like equation y=Mx+b, then u can use to find coordinates of the line on the graph. So it’ll be something like: y= 4x +5
So if x=0 then y will be 4*0 +5 which is 5
If x = 1 then y will be 4*1 + 5 which is 9
Or if x = 2 then y will be 4*2 + 5 which is 13


And u also do it the other way around in order to find X,
For example, if y = 0 then x will be 0=4x+5, so x will be (when solved for x) -5/4
If y = 1 then x will be 1=4x+5, so x will be -1
If y = 2 then x will be 2=4x+5, so x will be -3/4



Conclusion: So by itself you do not really times things, but you use it to find linear coordinates. (e.g. (1,3), (4,6))

to be real i don´t think you can do anything because they´re not like terms. you can´t combine them (add) because they don´t have anything in common
