or website. If she buys the phone through WestCell, they are offering her a reduced price in
which they subsidize the difference between the discounted and regular price of the phone. She
will also need to purchase the service plan through them. If she buys the phone on her own, she
will then need to shop around for a service plan provider. Tay found the following information
on both types of plans for the latest version of a smart phone she wishes to purchase:
Subsidized by WestCell: $250 for the phone plus $80 per month for unlimited talk and text
and 3 GB of data.
Unsubsidized: $700 for the phone purchased at Great Buy plus a monthly $60 service plan
through the provider RingZ for unlimited talk and text and 3 GB of data.
Create an average cost rational function for each possibility. Graph the functions and interpret
the intersection point.
