Answer:

first blank: 13

2nd/3rd blank:14/13

4th blank: 13

5th/6th blank: 14/13

7th blank: 42

Explanation:

From the first line to the second you need to add

4/7x + 5/14x

Times 2 on the top and bottom of 4/7 to make it be 8/14.

then you can add:

8/14x + 5/14x

Keep the 14 on the bottom, add the tops. 8+5 is 13

= 13/14x

The 13 on top is the first fill in.

To solve for x you can multiply by the reciprocal of 13/14 (just flip it over)

14/13 is the blank/blank on both sides of the equal sign in front of the parenthesis.

The blank over 14 is 13, the same as the first answer.

The 14/13 × 13/14x

just leaves x on the left in the last line of the equation.

On the right, you have

14/13 × 39

You can divide the 39/13 to get 3. The problem becomes

14 × 3

= 42 This is the last fill in.

13/14 x = 39

14/13(13/14x)=14/13(39)

x = 42
