Given
Ratio g : b = 23 : 22,
Number of students is g + b = 1170.
Let the number of girls is 23x, then number of boys is 22x.
23x + 22x = 1170
45x = 1170
x = 1170/45
x = 26
Then find each number
g = 23×26 = 598
b = 22×26 = 572
