Answer:

-22

Explanation:

Let n = the first integer.

Let n+2 = the 2nd integer.

Let n+4 = the 3rd integer.

Equation: n+n+2+n+4 = -66

Add all the "n's" = 3n

Then add 2+4 = 6

Now your equation should look like this: 3n+6 = -66

Subract 6 from both sides: 3n = -72

Then divide both sides by 3: 3n/3 = -72/3

Finaly you have your awnser: n = -24

n = -24

n+2= -22

n+4= -20

When you add all these up you get -66.

Answer:

  • The middle number is -22

-----------------------------

Let the middle number is x

  • Then the other two are x - 2 and x + 2.

Set equation for the sum and solve for x

  • x - 2 + x + x + 2 = - 66
  • 3x = - 66
  • x = - 22
