Where is -3 -1 in the Coordinate Plane

Answer:

Okay, we have the x-axis (the horizontal one) and the y-axis (the vertical one). When you're given coordinates like (-3, -1), the first number is always on the x-axis, and the second number is always on the (y-axis)

-3 is on the x-axis. To the left are the negative numbers and to the right are the positive ones. Since it's negative, it will be on the left. So you look for -3 on the x-axis, if it's not labeled you can count the lines until you reach it. You then move downward one, to reach -1. And that's point (-3, -1) on the coordinate plane.

You move down because it's a negative. If it were a positive 1 though, then you would move up.
