Remove the greatest common factor.

Both have a multiple of 2 in them

Both have a multiple of x in them

Therefore, both have a multiple of 2x in them.

Factor 2x out.

2x(y^2 -5)

Use difference of squares to factor the second term.

(2x) (y-5) (y+5) is factored form.

Hope this helps :)
