Explanation:

10x + 8y = -40 y and x intercept

y intercept occurs when x = 0

10(0) + 8y = -40

8y = -40

divide both sides by 8:

8y/8 = -40/8

y = -5

( 0 , -5 )

_______________________________

x intercept occurs when y = 0

10x + 8(0) = -40

10x = -40

divide both sides by 10:

10x/10 = 040/10

x = -4

( -4 , 0 )
