To find the x-intercept of

the graph of a linear equation, can you substitute 0
for x and solve the equation? Explain.

Answer: no, you cannot because you would get an undefined line which isn't a true function. You always substitute 1 for x to get a basic function which site and teachers will want you to use unless you've been told to do difrently. :)
