Lakeland theater sold tickets to a play for $5 each. They also made $55 in soda and popcorn sales. If the theater made a total of $290, how many tickets were sold?

Okay so $290 all together they made $55 without selling tickets. So 290-55=235. Now you have to divide 235 by 5 which equals 47.

Answer: 47 tickets were sold.
