Finding Area of Combined Shapes:

To find the area of a shape made up of other shapes, we need to find the area of each object that makes it up (rectangle and 2 triangles in this case) and add them up.

However, in this case we can make it easier by moving the left triangle to the right triangle to form a smaller rectangle with the 2 triangles which would form the trapezoid into a large rectangle.

Area of Rectangle:

The formula for a rectangle is length × width.

The length of the formed rectangle is 17 (rectangle length) + 5 (triangle length) which is 22.

The width is 4 which stays the same.

22×4=88

Area = 88 units²
