Step 3. Rewrite these same 3 sentences again, using ‘negative’ describing words.



Step 4. Describe how the intent of each sentence changes with the difference in denotation and connotation.

The park was astonishing, it had glistened in the sunlight in the morning.

They were nice, with a bubbling personality!

It was verry shiny with soft fabric.

The park was okay, i went in the morning.

It was slightly bland, and the fabric was normal.

The park was disgusting, there was trash all over, and the morning sunshine made it smell worse.

They were so mean, they yelled at me.

It was Terrible, the fabric was like the napkin they give you at the dentist.
