Republican-Style Economic Regulation

Republican politics are often seen as pro-business and pro-limited government economic control. This entails supporting laws that prioritize economic interests over those of the environment, labor unions, healthcare, and retirement benefits. Republicans tend to garner support from company owners and venture capitalists rather than backing from labor because of this more pro-business leaning.

Instead of creating a 2020 Party Program, as is common during election years, the Republican Party advanced their 2016 platform.

The party's limited government stance on the economy was reaffirmed in its 2016 platform, which said that "government cannot produce prosperity."
